In March 2026, JS FITTINGS received an inquiry from a steel pipe supplier in Nigeria for a batch of large-diameter API 5L LSAW steel line pipe. The LSAW pipes were required for a natural gas facility and would be used for gas transportation.
The order involved 6 large containers. Because the customer planned to use the pipes for an industrial gas project and was also looking for a reliable long-term supplier, the purchasing process focused not only on price, but also on product quality, production capability, inspection and delivery.
After several months of technical discussions, negotiation and factory inspection, the order was completed and shipped in Aug 2026.
From Initial Inquiry to Final Shipment
The project started with a detailed inquiry in March.
The customer had specific requirements for large-diameter API 5L LSAW line pipe, so our sales and technical teams first confirmed the pipe specifications, applicable standard, quantity, testing requirements and delivery details.
For a project involving gas transportation, specification accuracy and quality control are particularly important. Instead of giving the customer a quick standard quotation, we worked through the technical details with them before confirming production.
The customer also wanted to verify our actual manufacturing capability before moving forward.
Factory Inspection Before the Order
The Nigerian customer visited our factory to inspect our production and quality-control capabilities.
During the factory visit, the customer reviewed the production facilities, manufacturing process, inspection procedures and related export experience.
For us, a factory inspection is not simply a sales procedure. It allows the customer to understand how their order will actually be produced and inspected.
After the inspection and further negotiations, both sides reached an agreement and the order was confirmed.
Production and Quality Inspection
Once production started, we maintained communication with the customer throughout the order.
The customer raised questions about the pipe specifications, production progress, inspection and shipment arrangements. Our team followed up on each point and provided the information required for the customer to make decisions.
Before shipment, the customer returned to our factory for a final product inspection.
The inspection provided an opportunity to check the finished LSAW steel pipes before loading and confirm that the products matched the agreed requirements.
Only after the inspection was completed and the customer was satisfied did we proceed with final loading and shipment.
6 Containers Successfully Shipped in July 2026
After production and inspection were completed, the 6-container order of API 5L LSAW steel line pipe was successfully shipped to Nigeria in July 2026.
For a bulk industrial order, shipment is only one part of the process. Accurate production, inspection, documentation, packing and delivery coordination all need to work together.
Our goal was to make sure the customer received the products according to the agreed specifications and schedule.
